Club 33 has always been a dream of mine. I used to work at the Disneyland Resort and thought maybe, just maybe I would get a chance. I just wanted to see it, I didn’t even need to sit down for a meal. The opportunity never presented itself at the time so I assumed it never would. But last September the impossible happened. A friend of a friend invited my mother in law and her family to go for lunch! I died when she called to tell me we were going. At the time I was five months pregnant and traveling less but I couldn’t pass this opportunity up. Club 33 was a dream on it’s own… but when we got there it was even better than I could have imagined! Club 33 was celebrating the Haunted Mansion’s 55th Anniversary!!

Club 33’s Court of Angels
We didn’t know that Club 33 would be celebrating the Haunted Mansion’s 55th anniversary ahead of time. When we walked inside there was a mini mansion and pets from the pet graveyard. I immediately melted!
Below are pictures of the waiting area. They offer you beverages and there are cute french style tables and chairs to wait in. You’re allowed to take pictures as long as no other guests are in them (for anyone wondering).

Once our table was ready our guest service rep escorted us upstairs. The guest service rep greets your party at the entrance and waits with you in the waiting area. Ours suggested that we take the stairs up and the elevator down to get the full effect. At the top of the stairs you enter a hallway with a members only area and the gift shop. The gift shop items change when the decorations change, and this time everything was Haunted Mansion themed. Some items are exclusively for Club 33 members though, meaning we, as guests not members, couldn’t purchase them. Across from the store were three GIANT busts of the hitchhiking ghosts. For some reason I thought the Haunted Mansion theme started and ended at the waiting area. It was at this point I realized the entire restaurant was themed out.

Inside Club 33
To my delight, everything from the decor to the table setting was Haunted Mansion themed. The walls were decorated with Haunted Mansion art. Some of the paintings can be found inside the Mansion but some never made it past the concept art stage. It was great to be able to see them in person.
The plates had Sally Slater and other Haunted Mansion Characters on them, along with the Haunted Mansion Wallpaper pattern. Haunted Mansion gargoyles sat atop every cabinet. The menu even offered Haunted Mansion themed cocktails and food options. I was pregnant at the time so I didn’t try them… but everyone else in my party thoroughly enjoyed them.

We had an absolutely amazing time at Club 33! Our group was a party of eight and took our time trying everything on the menu. If you end up staying until you’re the last guests in the restaurant, you’ll be able to get more pictures inside! The staff was also so kind and gave us a congratulations card and dessert for our future baby.
